Same mistake …
Cognizant management is also making the same mistake what Invensys management made, by not directly meeting the working level staff to understand their wishes, concerns and complaints against their managers. So far not even a single meeting is addressed by EMS group heads at Chennai involving working level staff but there were so many visits made by these heads in the last two months.

Gentle Remainder IDC Engineering Leadership Team was indirectly controlling the IDC Management and its operations. So the real fact is “The IDC Engineering Leadership Team was the main culprits behind the downfall of Invensys Development Centre, Hyderabad, due which we all are suffering at CTS. Worried about my job in CTS.

Guys, there are few ignorant people out there and don’t get carried away by their posts, if people were involved in icicidirect and online gaming then invensys would have put websense or closed idc in worst case. selling idc to cts is no solution, there was no such problem of icicidirect. cts is just trying to potray that they have made a big favour by hiring idc employee and idc people should accept whatever shit they throw at

Boss I have been working with IDC Wonderware for last 4 and half year and from our team we had some products which were totally tested from here(the dev was outsourced to the masters outside Wonderware LF) so you just can’t generalize everything.
Some of the products dev and tested in our team had made the baseline for running A2 products, and in my whole time spent in IDC I have never seen anyone doing “icici direct” leaving his/ her task at aside, so because of someone doing ” icici direct” should not be taken/given as an impression that every one in IDC was running a stock exchange in ex IDC. Think before you leap.
Another thing , it also depends upon your LF manager howmuch work and kind of work he sent to IDC, for this point we were a bit lucky that we got a good manager there in LF.

Invensys recently sold its Indian Development Centre (IDC) to Cognizant. As our associates in India are getting to know more about the new setup, it is getting clear that the partnership between Invensys and Cognizant may be heading for rough waters.
While the seating, office space, food and air quality in new Indian office are all known problems, recently it was communicated to them that the work hours are increased from 8 to 9 hours/day. Given these circumstances the team in India seems to have lost both faith and enthusiasm. Also our associates in India feel that the level of monitoring and restrictions indicate that Cognizant is a company that runs BPOs, and so core R&D is something that they are new to.
As the job scenario in India is good, if situation in Cognizant ODC is not changed soon, Invensys risks losing most of their India development team.

Its luck…
We can’t comment anything.Its all our fate.I am working for famous wonderware product, day and night ,because i love the product i work for.But we never recognized fairly.We released many crucial versions within very limited period under heavy pressure from higher management at LF where they monitored progress on daily basis.Almost 40% of total work was done here with just 5 resources.For recent release, they fired all our colleagues in LF.But still we sustained and released the product within remarkable deadline with tremendous quality which was a major success and important release for wonderware.Even after that we released a product independently.We hardly attended 2 trainings in my tenure(including induction) and hardly played TT.
I can say confidently and proudly that we were the team who was occupied with 200% work daily and fed all of wonderware who didn’t have any thing to do at that time.They were days when we handled multiple projects at a time on same day.
But we were all rewarded with ME rating and 5 % CTS hike.Entire credit was taken by few top people.FYI.We never involve in those two activities you are talking about.Always we made wonderware IDC as profitable alliance even though they are fools and fxxxxxs who always take the credit even if they do not deserve.
I can predict how much hike and retention bonuses each fxxxxr got in last four years.An ex colleague,who was terminated by wonderware once and now in invensys,is in Australia on an onsite assignment.Thats all luck and fate.What these fxxxxxs gave us was a CTS offer with drink party and Invensys termination letter under conditions.Now they are fxxxxxg us regularly and being fxxxxd by CTS top management.
Friends realize the truth , know your boss and act accordingly.Don’t make cheap comments about invensys.There is no scrap, no worst invensys.You made invensys as top player in industrial automation with sound and advanced products.Invensys raised from bankrupt company to a leader in this domain within last 9 years.With out IDC support,invensys could not be in this position.Pankaj Mody knows it better than anybody else.
The indian fellow, our sudiptha decided to concentrate more on sales,marketing,architecture and customer support.He does not want to bother about development and these dirty politics by fxxxxxs here and there.He is loving the Cognizant deal because it gives him someone else to blame when things are late, over budget, and buggy. He is running out of excuses.
CTS never bother about your career or future.Their aim is to make money and become big player in service oriented business.Its waste of time still thinking of CTS and invensys.
If you are not the one among the fxxxxxs i called ,prove your self in cts or get a new job.I do not hope or wish we have a bright career in cts.Dont fringe your career in a congested cubical and commission based company.All the best.

Invensys Development Centre was founded in April 2002, One question, from April 2002 to August 2009 how many enhancements/bug fixes were handled independently, if these enhancements/bug fixes were handled independently, why would CTS enter the picture. Invensys was 60000 emplyee company in 2000 and today it is in such a abysmal condition it is all because of IDC was busy in online gaming and icici direct, idc didn’t release even a single project on time because we were busy in icici direct. Unlucky first month …
One month over after joining Cognizant. It is really bad to say, this is the worst company i have come to know till now. Can’t even say how worst it is. I truly bet, this is not going to long lasting either between employees and the company or between company and company. whoever says what ever But this is true. Just need to wait how soon this is going to happen.
First time, getting irritated , frustated , everything happening if we plan to come to office and work for invensys in cognizant… never felt like this when we were working in Invensys IDC.
How many days, times we will have security checks ? are we employees or some rowdies or thinking as school kids? It became clear now, what all we heard from cognizant officials are only good for hearing. we cant see it in practical for ever.
No one knows where is admin dept, finance dept, Hr Dept. any issue call to chennai though VNet or mail. Invensys HR is far far better than Cognizant.
No places for the people who joined recently. Till now Hardly they recruited 25+ but they were telling 100 joined already. giving all false information. Integrity is most important between any relationship. its totally gone in this one month.
Countdown started…. Lets wait and see….

3) onsite opportunities
4) do they provide any domain specific knowledge for new joinees( lateral hires)

I am told that Cognizant employees have access to internet, barring a 60 minute quota to access personal emails. It is our beloved Invensys’s requirement to have a secluded network. We are pointing fingers at a wrong person.

Hello Cognizant day-dreamer, please come to the reality and sensible thinking. If your organization does not take corrective actions and create a good working conditions for the working level people (not just for managers and above), take the word Invensys ODC at Cognizant will be left with people as described by you (Guys who want unlimited internet, spacious cubicles, privacy to run their day trading, no dress code and pay/hike for talking about their past work). Because these people are not capable of getting any better position in any other organization than yours. People who want to work are always welcomed in any organization, just watch the market in India started booming again.
It is time for Cognizant and Invensys to identify and remove the Guys who want unlimited internet, privacy to run their day trading, etc, as early as possible otherwise you are bound to lose the good talent.

Act as per fact…
Hey! You trying to say that those leaving Cognizant are useless and those working are worthy to earn salary. If that is so no organsation should recruit a person with Cognizant experience.
About internet. If you never used internet for constructive use, you will always think that day long internet is a day long timepass.
I agree with you about day trading. Block it or take action against those doing so. But that can’t be the reason for not providing internet.
If you think about security, then how do you think IDC IT department maintained it all these years. That is called ability to control the network.
Except these I don’t find any reason for not providing internet access. It is an illusion to think that blocking internet is the mantra to improve productivity. Yes it improves productivity on immediate timeframe. You will also find slow down in initiatives, creativity and inturn capability of groups to innovate. Those are long term consequences. These aspects
are not new, but just that we don’t dare to consider them on ground. Those organsations which believe in ability to control network take benefits of liberal internet access policy.
About dress code. Yes we will abide to policy of the organsation that we work for.
At the sametime dressing is a matter of culture. As such majority of the employees wear formals. You can counsel those not following the code with some dignity. I don’t think shouting at employees at entry gate is the practice that any organsation can encourage. If you believe that formal dress code induces professional attitude, demonstrate and encourage that by practicing it. Otherwise if you just want to follow dress code for the sake of clients then you can shout and bash to your satisfaction. As some people in positions say ‘damn it I don’t care reasons, but just don’t want to see anybody not dressed according to the code. If you can’t do that for me, I don’t need you.’
That is one part. What is your course of action on manipulations. We are still observing them here to the tune that is not healthy. Say it in estimates or schedules or time logs. As posted on this forum earlier, we have big time manipulators of these parameters

“Think positive…” a good one but small correction “please others with out any constructive work” should be “please their bosses with out any constructive work” and two more important services they can provide, online gaming and ICICI direct. When I was working for IDC these are the other two important activities of some employees then. I assume these employees have also moved to the ODC now.
Cognizant being a servce providing company should explore the possibility of using these people’s expert services in Hospitality vertical, best of luck!
